Megan R. Swanson
Administrative Sales Assistant
Megan Swanson is an Administrative Sales Assistant for the McDermid Financial Group Team and has been with the company for several years. She works directly with the Executive Operations Officer, our team of Sales Agents and President and CEO of the organization.
Prior to her current role she was the Partner and Financial Controller for an Executive Search Firm here in Buffalo. She was responsible for managing all aspects of running a small business, including assisting with the placement of c-suite executives, employee management, training and monthly metrics and financial reporting. She has enjoyed taking her broad range of experience from the small business arena and applying it in a larger corporate environment.
Her focus is on managing process flow, to help create effective procedures and efficiencies for the team. She strives to be a systems expert, centered around technology and integrations for the office. Megan also focuses some of her efforts on marketing for the firm, in collaboration with President and CEO, Geoff McDermid. Her goals are to continue to grow the community presence as trusted advisors in the financial space, and to help things run smoothly, increasing the bottom line by assisting the agents to feel more organized and supported.
Megan enjoys playing and watching ice hockey and supporting her two children. Her son, who also plays ice hockey, and daughter, who loves horseback riding, art and theater are her world. She is also a long time creative with a Bachelors in Graphic Design. When she's not running from one activity to another, she enjoys spending time listening to music, reading, indulging in delicious food, looking for the next new travel spot and being active outside and in sports. She believes that life is meant to be full of adventure.
